Stoneleigh Kitchen Renovation
We often work in older homes that have small kitchens. Sometimes we enlarge these kitchens with additions or by expanding into other rooms, but in many cases this isn’t feasible. But, there are plenty of ways to make a kitchen live larger without enlarging the footprint. This 1920s home had a modern kitchen, but the dark cabinets and countertops made it feel small.
Replacing the cabinetry and countertops with white cabinets to the ceiling and white subtly veined quartz countertops visually enlarged the space and provided additional storage. Removing an awkward pillar at the island and replacing hanging pendants with recessed lights further opened up the space to the adjoining breakfast room.
