Light-Filled Kitchen

This family had an outdated, too closed-in kitchen with an unusually sized passthrough to their dining room, and wanted to change the whole space to make it more functional and fit their taste. We removed the wall with the passthrough adding a big island where the wall had been to give the family plenty of storage space. We tied the dining room space into the kitchen space with gleaming hardwood floors and a matching glass wine cabinet to provide continuity and beauty.
Light streams into the kitchen and dining room space from the new glass doors, and the counter level window making the whole space a delightful place to cook. And one of the families’ favorite details is a little custom built storage bench by the door giving them a place to sit and take off shoes.
